Why do you shoot using natural light?

I aim to take headshots that give a true and flattering representation of how you look. Natural light allows me to do this without ending up with an unrealistic or glamourised image. The aim of my work is to provide you with a collection of mages that look exactly like you do on a good day so that casting directors aren’t surprised when you turn up to your audition.

What clothing options should I bring?

I’ll always send you a specific breakdown of what I recommend for your shoot. The general rules are choosing tops with a variety of necklines and avoiding anything that has a busy pattern. Remember the focus of your photos should be your face, so we don’t want anything that is going to distract from that. The most important thing is that you choose clothing that you love wearing to make you as comfortable as possible.

What about hair and make up?

Try to arrive wearing the sort of make up that you’d wear to an audition. Clean, simple and natural is my preference. It’s always a good idea to bring make up with you so that you can top up or add more if needed. Avoid having your hair cut or coloured too close to your headshot session. Ideally, allow at least a week for it to settle.

You work outdoors. What happens if it rains?

I always use a sheltered location that allows us to continue even in the weather turns against us.

Should I bring my old headshots to show you?

This is totally up to you. If there are specific things that you really like or really don’t like about them, then it’s definitely a good idea to talk this through with me before we start shooting.

How long does the shoot last?

I don’t work to a specific time frame, but most shoots last around 2 hours. We’ll keep going until we’re both happy that we have the shots that we want.

Can I see the photos as you take them?

Absolutely. I’ll constantly review your images with you throughout the session to make sure that we’re both on the same page and are happy with what we’re getting.

When do I pay you?

I normally take a small deposit at the time of booking to confirm your session. The balance should then be paid at least 48 hours before the session by bank transfer or in cash on the day before we start the session.

When will I get my photos?

I aim to provide you with an online gallery of your entire session within 48 hours of the shoot. From here, you’re able to start making your choices. Once you’ve made your final selection and sent them to me, you should have your final retouched images within 7 working days. If you require an express service, please let me know at the time of booking and I’ll do my best to arrange this.

Do you give out untouched RAW images?

I don’t. To preserve your reputation as a performer and mine as a photographer, the only images the general public, casting directors or audition panels should see are the final edited shots. You’re welcome to share the untouched gallery with agents etc, but these are not available for you to keep for you to edit yourself.

Do you provide headshot prints?

Yes. High quality prints of your shots are available directly from me. If you’d like to add these to your package, just let me know.
